At Infusion Care of East Alabama, we make sure your time with us is easy and comfortable, whether it’s your first appointment or you’ve been with us from the beginning.

Depending on the infusion type, your stay with us may be as little as 30 minutes, or up to several hours. A member of our team will let you know the duration of your stay prior to your appointment.

When you arrive, you can park right at the door – there are no huge parking lots to navigate or confusing hospital buildings. Enter our lobby and take the elevator to the second floor, where you will be greeted by a friendly member of our team.

Check In

Because infusion medications vary in administration time and Infusion Center of East Alabama schedules patients based on the anticipated infusion time, it is important for you to be on time for your appointment. During the first 30 minutes following your scheduled appointment time, we will obtain your weight, blood pressure and temperature (your vital signs). We will review your vital signs, pertinent lab work, and can then begin to safely prepare and process, check, and mix your personalized treatment for that particular day.

At your first appointment, you’ll meet with our onsite Nurse Practitioner who will lead you to your private infusion room and explain the therapy you’ll be receiving. After you’re set up with your therapy, you can sit back and enjoy a movie, chat with a friend or just relax.

After your Appointment

When your infusion is complete, a team member will ask you a few simple questions, and then you’re free to go.

After Your Appointment

At the time of your discharge, your nurse will provide you and your family with important information about your treatment. If you are given a medication to help you relax (sedative) during your treatment, you will be required to have a responsible person to drive you home. Please arrange to have an escort available at your estimated time of discharge.

After your infusion appointment, you may feel tired. It’s important to give yourself time to rest after an infusion and not rush to get back to work or run errands.
